Mount Hood

Post by pas8280 » Tue Jun 08, 2010 2:48 pm

I have some Mount Hood hops which i believe are lager type hops calling me from the freezer so i was thinking of doing a fake lager similar to adm's Loki Lager can anyone suggest a hop schedule using these hops and and what other hops if any would contribute to the brew ? cheers all

Coniston bluebird premium XB =P~ one of my favourites, uses challenger to bitter and mount hood late on for taste / aroma.

Malt is maris otter with 10% crystal to give a colour about 24 EBC. You are looking for a bitterness of 38 IBU so 40g of challenger for the boil, easy on the mount hood 5g with ten minutes to go. 4.2% ABV. This is my Bluebird XB clone recipe and it is perfect for the patio in the summer. =P~ I luvvit !!

I usually culture up the bluebird yeast from their bottled bitter, but I've made it with SO4 too and it 's still a mighty fine brew!!!
