Hi
I have made this recipe twice now and really like it but I get very little head retention, now I know that in the scheme of things it's the taste but I would just like to know what I could add that won't affect the flavour but will help with head retention
Maris Otter Malt - 3.220 kg
Pale Crystal Malt - 0.170 kg
40g Challenger @ 90mins
20g East Kent Goldings @ 15 mins
20g East Kent Goldings @ Flameout
10g Bobek @ Flameout

Just add or substitute some Wheat malt or Torrefied wheat, about 200g should help.

I use a little wheat for head in all my beers! however if the tast is fine you could cheat and add some PGA!

Wheat malt is a much more useful than TorrefiedMattypower wrote:I use a little wheat for head in all my beers! however if the tast is fine you could cheat and add some PGA!

Re: My Bluebird ish clone
Going to do another brew next week so will do this one again and add 170g of wheat malt
Re: My Bluebird ish clone
I have just bottled this brew and tbh I bloody well love it its a little bit more hoppy than the Coniston Bluebird but to me the flavour is enhanced by this.
Will adding the 170g of wheat malt change any of the flavour profile or should that small amount just give me better head
