So next week sees the start of the christmas brews.
I aim to make 2 this year, and hope they both turn out as good as last year.
Here is the first
Busters Winter Warmer:-
23 litre brewlength, based on 75% efficiency.
The fermentables
Pale malt 6296
Dark crystal 286
torrified wheat 357
Black 60
The hoppy type things
Challenger to 14,7 IBU @ 60
Northdown to 17 IBU @ 60
Styrian goldings to 6,8 IBU @10
Challenger to 4,3 IBU @ 10
I am thinking of dry hopping with Styrians and challenger after the initial ferment is over. I am also debating as to whether i should use cascades instead of the styrians.
Any thoughts on this please Gents?
I will be using 2 packets of nottingham.
The tale of the tape
All being well i should get the following:-
42 IBU
30,6 EBC
and an ABV of 7.14%
Should the efficiency be better than 75 i will either have more beer... or a stronger version.
Any gløaring errors here, brewday is a week away:)
thanks

any views? Styrians or cascade?
Re: The first of 2 christmas brews
I'd go with cascade. Did a brew with Northdown and Cascade a while back ... for my taste it was a good combination.
Christmas brew...? Any spices?
