Interesting amount of amber malt in there but only to be expected to back up its name
I have used amber before in small quantities and to me it added a bit of smokiness (best way I can describe it).

Good luck with your brew day and let us know the taste verdict later down the line :D

Have fun with the brew session, Ted. Any thoughts I had of brewing today were dashed by Mother Nature as my backyard brewery is ankle deep in wet snow this morning. Another interesting recipe there, Mr. Historical Beer. 8)

Thanks guys! For the amber, I am using some store bought and some that I made following the directions in that book, so we'll see how it turns out. I think there is some flavor that makes me think smokiness too in the store bought grain, but the homemade comes out very nutty, hopefully they will compliment each other well!! Only time will tell. :D
