Re: what about this for a porter!
can anyone recommened i do this? going to try to get it going on sunday
Re: what about this for a porter!
The cara-aroma and carahell (both caramel malts) add a large percentage there. From memory Fullers London Porter is about 8% crystal, with 4% Choc and 8% brown.
I would keep the crystal to 5-10% myself, and just use ordinary crystal.
Regarding the hops - generally porter goes up to a maximum of 1:1 BU:GU from many of the modern day and historical recipes I've ever seen - but most modern day recipes seem to be lower in bitterness.

Re: what about this for a porter!
See how it turns out!
Apart from the high cara/crystal it does look good...
The Notty should help keep it fairly dry... and with a healthy hopping rate it should be good!
Could be quite like anchor porter with that hop schedule... Which is one of my fav porters!
Let us know how you get on!
