Greenhall's Original

Post by barney » Sun May 01, 2011 1:08 pm

When I was a young man and first ventured out onto the imbibement trail, a drink that I found tasty from an otherwise bland selection of Greenhalls beers was "Original". I know its going back some years and my taste buds were babies back then so I could be wrong and it was crap along with their other stuff, but I would like to try and make a few gallon for old times sake. Does anyone have a recipe?

details are very sketchy on the 1500 uk beers listhttp://kotmf.com/articles/1500ukbeers.doc its saying 1.045og malt and maltose syrup, fuggles and goldings as hops.it states the ibus as 65, as far as i can see(cant see that figure beeing right!)

not much to go on im afraid

the tipsy angel brewery (located at the lower angel pub,)in warrington are recreating greenhalls recipes iirc .you might have better luck asking them

I have very fond memories of TGO or funky as we used to call it.

I would also be very interested in a recipe if anyone has one ??
