Punked IPA V2

Post by crookedeyeboy » Thu Jun 23, 2011 4:48 pm

Right time for version 2.0

The first one lasted two weeks and was amazing. LOADS of bitterness. Nice.

This time I should be using my new 60lt boiler therefore I am going to make shed loads of it, well 45 litres to be precise.

Bring it on!

How does that much bitterness taste in such a light beer?

I like bitterness, and I like beer too.... hmmm

Love the year's worth of hops...............personally I would like to see a little more ABV. Wouldn't stop me drinking it though

Funny you said that Trucker. I have actually dropped the ABV as the last one kept wiping me out in two bottles!! It was 5.3% before so I wanted something a little lower.

As for the bitterness, try it! You would not believe how drinkable this was, it was my fastest drunk beer and went in less than two weeks. The bitterness came as an aftertaste and had a lovely long finish which was not unpleasant at all due to the lovely flavour of the particular mixture of hops.

If you can get hold of it, try a Meantime Yakima Red - it's got the hop punch and malty backbone of BrewDog Hardcore IPA and is only 4% - incredible!
