Something for christmas

Post by quixoticgeek » Thu Sep 29, 2011 8:57 pm

It feels like time to start thinking about brewing a nice winter beer in time for Christmas.

Does anyone have recommendations for a suitable Brew?

A spiced ale or a porter maybe?

Would agree with dave-o. I've done a porter myself, but a nice 'spiced' old ale is under serious consideration for next year, or maybe something Belgian... dunno. Either way, I'll aim for something with a higher OG which I'll brew early next year and once conditioned store in smaller 330ml bottles.

Are you using just regular lager 330ml bottles or have you managed to find some thick ones? I could do with some, but my foot had a nasty encounter with a home brew-filled lager bottle once.
