Help with a recipe

Post by prodigal2 » Sun Apr 29, 2007 11:12 pm

Ive just had a email from a local micro telling me what they have in stock.
Malts: pilsner, munich, chocolate and mulata(trying to find out what malt this is)
Hops: perle, nugett, and silvestre

And I am at a loss what I could do with these ingredients seeing as this will be my first AG, I was hoping to do 100% Satisfaction(or I can't believe its not Caroline)

In truth a Californian common beer style, may be the solution. In truth though I would like to keep it simple, as its is going to be a bodgeit, leggit and scarpa first brew making do on some bits and pieces.

I'm trying to source locally as the only HBS that stocks grain in spain only does one post run a month,

I would probably do a Dunkelweizen with those ingredients, pick up a nice hefe yeast (WLP300) and away you go!

I thought you needed a wheat malt for a Dunkelweizen. If not do you have a recipe?

I may have got a friend to sort me out some Goldings so I may still be able to try out the 100% satifactionish.

On a side note perhaps a pils with a ale yeast.

Anyone tried nugget? would that be a good hop to use on its own?

If I used perle 50grms for 90mins and 10grms last 15mins seem like a good idea to you guys? I know it has a love it or hate it bittering quality, so I dont want to over do it.
