I'd go

4750g pale
250g crystal
100g cascade. Split it into 3 piles and put one in full boil, one in at 10 mins and one in at flame out.
S05 or notts.

Simples.

Yeah it's my standard IPA-ish grain bill, except i'd usually use cara rather than crystal. Not a big difference though. Perhaps 250g wheat malt too.

For convenience, i usually use 100g of hops, whatever variety they are. With the very high AA hops i'd probably put them all in late, but with medium-AA hops like Cascade you probably want some in full boil.

Well i've made quite a few over the last few years.

The statisticians will probably scoff at my imprecision, but as above, i'll usually just use 100g of whatever hop (or more usually two complimentary hops) and adjust the hop timing to get somewhere around the right bitterness. I'm not that worried about getting an exact IBU, i just want to make a beer that has lots of the flavour of whatever hops i'm using, is not massively bitter (i'm probably after about 40IBU which is not that bitter compared to most IPAs on here) and with minimum faff.

My favourite two so far have been cascade/citra and cascade/chinook.

Next up is a NZ black IPA - i think it'll have to be called "All Black" or something. NZ cascade and Green Bullet with some cold-steeped black malt for colour.

I'm hoping to make this as soon as my FV is free. its had a Lager in for a few days.

I had a bottle of Saltaire Brewery Cascade at the weekend so I'm hoping this is fairly like that.

I nearly forgot about this recipe, it's from Deschutes Brewery out of Bend Oregon called Mirror Pond. It's a fantastic all cascade pale ale, actually my go-to beer for quite a few years.

6 gallons:

OG 1053
42 IBU

90 min boil

5.23kg Pale Ale Malt
400g crystal 75
90g carapils

28g cascade 6%AA at 85m
28g cascade at 30m
28g cascade at 5m
28g cascade at 0
21g cascade dry hop

WLP002

Mash at 149F

Ferment at 65F, raising to 72F after 4 days
