I made an Apollo hop beer recently which I also called Saturn V!
Might be a bit bitter for only 1.050 OG, it might be ok, but take a while to mellow out a bit. Im not afraid of a decent amount of bitterness but if I was going for 100+ ibu I would probably aim for an OG of 1.070 or more. That said, others might never want to go that high on the ibu's, it's just personal taste really. If you don't mind an experimental brew then I would go for it, could be interesting, but it will be bitter!

Re: Saturn V
Using more "floral" hops ie. Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Cascade etc, I have pushed up to 100IBU. It worked for me but I can imagine it would be a bit much for others.
Looking at the IBU/OG charts, it wouldn't rate as "balanced".
But you can ignore all the "balanced" figures for Hop Bombs. The only limit is your palette and supplies.

Re: Saturn V
yeah youre right guys p'raps I might balance it a bit with higher og and pull some of the bittering hops to a later addition, still I was hoping for a hop rocket to take me into orbit. Got the weekend to think about it.

Re: Saturn V
That may well be true, but I think theres more than just ibu's about a hop like this and adding it in this way, anyway I'll let you all know the resultI understand, that people can only taste up to 100IBU
