Help Using Up Left over Maris Pale Ale

Post by barneey » Thu Apr 05, 2012 9:32 am

I have been gifted an unexpected brew day tomorrow, I wont have time to buy anything (unless I go for a 2hr drive) so here what I have in my store.

Code: Select all

Crystal Malt	2KG
Amber Malt	500g
Black Malt 690g
Caracpils Malt	2.4KG
Chocolate Malt	800g
Halcyon Malt	480g
Maris Pale Ale	3KG
Pale Wheat Malt	1KG
Roasted Barley	600g
Torrifed Wheat	1.4KG
Wheat Malt	2KG

Amarillo 400g
Aramis	200g
Challenger	80g
Chinook	200g
Columbus	250g
E.K.Goldings 20g
Fuggles	200g
Galaxy	200g
Magnum	80g
Summer	200g
Target	200g
Willamette 500g

Can anyone recommend any recipe to use any of the above, if not might be a classic pale ale brew day.

Many Thanks

How about

Ingredient Amount % MCU When
UK Pale Ale Malt 3.000 kg 64.8 % 3.4 In Mash/Steeped
UK Amber Malt 0.500 kg 10.8 % 3.8 In Mash/Steeped
UK Lager Malt 0.480 kg 10.4 % 0.4 In Mash/Steeped
US Carapils Malt 0.350 kg 7.6 % 0.2 In Mash/Steeped
UK Torrified Wheat 0.300 kg 6.5 % 0.2 In Mash/Steeped

Columbus 25g all boil, 10, 5, off and dry hop

just of the top of my head! The amber malt gives a great 'complexity' to pales! goes in all mine now! :D
