Sounds awesome! How long will you leave it to mature?
Re: Todays Brew.An Imperial IPA.
Bill, not to long.Ferment and secondary around 3 weeks,3 weeks in the bottle, then drink. The longer you leave it the less the hops dominate.Drink them young I'd say.staplefordbill wrote:Sounds awesome! How long will you leave it to mature?

I agree, although it wouldn't hurt to save one or two for a while to see how it tastes as it mellows.

I'm just here for the beer.

I go with that principle too, starting on my Early Bird IPA which I dry hopped with Citra, only five days in bottle but it's damn tasty.Rookie wrote:Drink them young I'd say.

Re: Todays Brew.An Imperial IPA.
Gravity down to 1015 and raised the temperature up to 22 degrees to mop up.
Now adding 30 grams of vodka soaked oak chips and 100 grams of dry hops.
A new dry hopping technique found on the internet.
100grams of flower hops, a small glass of cooled boiled water and 1 minute in the food processor.
I cup of hop paste ready to use
Dry hop and oak in for a week prior to kegging.

The blitzed hops

In secondary before racking

In secondary after racking

The vodka soaked oak chips

The vodka soaked oak smell just like whisky
The aroma of the blitzed hops filled the kitchen
