HOPS boil time 90 minutes

NORTHDOWN 26 gms
FUGGLES 24 gms
Add 10 gms fuggles last 15 minutes

Yeast of your choice Dent yeast provided by YOUNGERS

The latest version of the almanac is7years old,I think some breweries might have changed malts,replacing Pipkin and Halcyon with Maris Otter.

FUGGLES 73 gms No ebu given I have calculated for 30 EBU.

Add 10 gms TARGET last fifteen minutes.

I was a tad unclear above.

It is excellent to read peoples own experiences with regard to ale ingredients and the 'holy grail' of correct formulation, for a given recipe.

It's interesting to see what different people taste from their own beers.

We all taste things differently and I believe from this you can conclude that not all recipe's will be the same, for a given taste.

Doesn't clear anything up that one :roll:

Ed. 3 (1993) suggests 98% Pipkin (and also 2% crystal)
Ed. 5 (1997) suggests 100% Maris Otter

I remember a conversation with a local brewer some of whose beers are in the 'Real Ale Almanac'. He said that the recipes for their beers in the almanac were not what they actually used. I didn't ask if he'd given the wrong recipe or if they'd changed subseqeuntly.

This conversation took place about 7 years ago so it wasn't that long after the book came out.

Priming sugars also used.
