Hi. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to brew this weeknd. I want something around 3.5 - 4% abv with both maltiness and hoppiness, but not overpowering that will appeal to a wide range of people (think barbecue seson) to be served through a hand pump. I've plenty of pale malt and a kilo each of munich and vienna that I'd like to use, but only 250g of crystal. Hops I've got are fuggles, goldings, bobek, saaz and target. I'll probably use SO-5 yeast, but also have SO-4. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll be having a play with Beer Engine later.
Thanks in advance.
Munich or Vienna?
Re: Munich or Vienna?
Decent set of ingredients there,
I'd go,
Pale malt 4kg,
Munich 500g,
Crystal 250g, for a good malty base, (maybe up the munich a bit if you fancy),
With fuggles to bitter and goldings or bobek to aroma fermented out with us-05 should be a good bbq beer i think.

I make a bitter almost the same as this but use SO4 and hop to about 27 IBU and it's nice and malty.Zephiacus wrote:Decent set of ingredients there,
