I haven't tried making an IIPA for ages, the last one was when I was still extract brewing and was a rubbish IIPA but matured into a decent barley wine.
So here is a recipe for comment.
21l brew length
6.5l Pale malt (probably MO as I have loads of it)
0.5kg Crystal
.1kg wheat malt
.5kg sugar
Mash at 64C or so for 90 minutes
60 minute boil with
70g Chinook @ 60 minutes
60g Cascade @ 20 minutes
30g Cascade @ 1 minute
Ferment with loads of US-05
Dry hop with another 30g Cascade
Any comments or ideas are more than welcome

Re: Classic IIPA recipe for comment
I'd mash at 68,otherwise with that sugar the beer will have a low FG.(thin)
Double the later hops and add lots more dry hops.

Re: Classic IIPA recipe for comment
More hops, always more hops
.
The reason for the low mash temp is to try and get the FG down, the classic Pliny recipe mashes at 65-66 and the current Arrogant Bastard CYBI clone is at 64.5.

That's because they tend not to use sugar.
