Pilsner Malt 4kg
CaraHell 227g

Saaz hops start of boil to 18 IBU
Saaz 30g @ 10 mins

Use Pils yeast like WY2278 or 2007

Good luck & let us know how it turns out!

Funny you should mention Mythos as we have a honeymoon in Greece in about 3 weeks and knowing i wont be getting much real ale over there i looked in my "1001 beers to try before you die" book and found this was the local drop.

I'll keep a look out for it :D

Hi!

It not a bad drop really although its often served at 2C in a frosted glass...

But its often whats needed when on the Greek islands in July August!
:)

Personally I prefer Alpha of the Greek Beers (much hoppier and alittle more body), but the Eurofizz Heini and Amstel are by far the most widely avaialable beers IIRC.

Both Mythos and Alpha come in green glass and I've had the odd light struck one but it was cold and wet and at the time a little over a Euro for a 500ml bottle in a seafront bar....
So it got drank rather than offend my Greek hosts sense of hospitality...

Have a fab holiday!

Fantastic guys thanks.
I guess the brew would be bottled with fresh yeast right?

Hi!

I've managed to bottle condition without adding any more yeast - and that was after lagering at 4C for 9 weeks (My Oktoberfest)!
I primed but didnt add any more yeast.
You do need to give it plenty of time to condition in the bottles at cellar temps it takes about another 6-12 weeks to be nicely conditioned

you can read about it here:

Good luck!

should have come to corfu we have a micro brewery here (royal ionian) that brew 2 english style beers as well as a pilsner lager which I suspect are brewery conditioned and bottled. They say on the bottle unpasterised and unfiltered but there is virtually no yeast in the bottle so I suspect crash cooled and carbed at the brewery beofre bottling

I would love to know a good clone of this could be made. Luckily down here in the East Adnams Cellar and Kitchen shops stock Mythos as does the Tesco outside of Woodbridge, Suffolk (although not sold as cheap as youd pay on a sunny island).
Grainfather conical standard bitter
Corny Keg 1 - Silver still spirits tonic water
Corny Keg 2 - Purple empty
Corny Keg 3 - Copper low % ale

Also keep a look out for Kraft beers which are on tap. They are a microbrewery which have started getting bigger and do lager,an ale and a stout and its actually really nice beer.only on tap though and still not very widely available.

Mythos is definitely the best lager you can get over there and Fix used to be ok,better then Amstel.

Like I said though if you see kraft anywhere have a pint, really worth it.

its not the same stuff the english one is 4.6 % the greek one is 5% , i bought a couple of bottles back from zante and did a blind tasting and theres no contest typical interbrew "lets use the name of a decent lager an stick any old crap in" not good
i really like mythos.
has anyone tried the fix dark that is starting to appear in greece ?, not had it myself but my nephew came back last week and told me about it very nice he claimed .

I went to the micro brewery in Corfu, lovely place. The guy was very friendly and let me take a sample out of one of the 12 2°C fermenters. it tasted amazing.

Hes actually managed to brew a real ale that is designed to be drunk at cold temperatures, no one wants a 13°C pint whilst its 33°C outside!
