I'm making a TC with 14L Tesco Apple Juice. I'd like to finish with around 7-9% ABV
So how much will the juice give and how much sugar will I need to add to boost the ABV?

Re: Turbo Cider - how much sugar
Check the pack for the exact sugar in the juice, but it's usually enough to give about 5.5%
You want an extra 1.5 to 3.5, which per litre is around 35 to 75g. Times 14 litres: 490 to 1050g sugar
But look, why do you want a 9% cider? It's too strong.

Re: Turbo Cider - how much sugar
I did a couple of TCs recently that, just because of the juice used, no added sugar, came out at 6.4 and 7.5.
The 6.4 is a gorgeous drink - more appley than standard TC - but the 7.5 has an edge to it that says "too much alcohol". To me anyway. Plus after a couple of those you just want to go to bed. ...alone.
I'll deffo make more of the 6.4, to keep for special occasions rather than standard Friday night necking, but the 7.5 is too much.
1 gallon of the 6.4: 1/2l cranberry; 1/2l strong PG Tips (4 bags); 1/2l Suma apple juice concentrate; 1l Morrison's value AJ, 2l water; tsp nutrient; 1/2pkt Young's cider yeast
NB Suma do 400 and 500ml bottles, you want the 500, and you don't need to waste money on the organic version.
If you want to try the 7.5, stick in an extra l of cheap AJ and leave out 1 of water

Re: Turbo Cider - how much sugar
I used brewing sugar 20 grams per litre to take it from 1050 to 1080 last time I made it I bottled it ,crisp clear and sparkling and very drinkable after a week.
