Can't be a weizen beer with that recipe, needs more wheat to at least 50% of grist

Vanilla hefe eh? Sounds interesting.. I think you've violated the laws of mathematics there though mate, your fermentables only add up to 90%! What's the rest, dark matter?

LOL - well spotted. Missed 10% wheat out there. I know it doesn't comply strictly to the guidelines (although, it does adhere to the BJCP guidelines except the wheat %age), but I fancied a change and for me that's what homebrew is all about. :)

Looks good!

I'm not a big Wheat purist so this sounds interesting... 5g of Vanilla in fermenter? Feeling flush are we...?
Should give you a nice flavour though :D

I always find wheats are good for drinking young, well certainly younger than a nice Pale Ale.
Guidelines are exactly that - a guide!
Let us know how it turns out...
Cheers!

Lol, the 5g was just a placeholder, I do have a 15g stash of long vanilla pods from a trip to costco though! Theyre just sitting in my cupboard, I'm not really a custard man :D
