that looks nothing like I would expect, no hops added after 20 mins? With a 20 min boil in a 30L boilerI dont think there would be much aroma left, someone correct me please if I'm wrong.
no palate, no patience.

Drinking - of course

The 20 min addition is down as an aroma hop steep, not boil.

That grainbill matches my notes, but I was pretty sure Jaipur contains Antanum, Centennial and Chinook hops. Jaipur would taste much more grapefruity with that much Cascade. The brewery mentions "honey" in their description, but I believe it's simply a description of the reminiscent flavor, not an actual ingredient. 5.9% ABV.

On a related note, you reminded me of this cool announcement from 2006 when Stone Brewing hired Mitch Steele away from Anheuser Busch: http://beeradvocate.com/articles/665

How about trying Sarah Carter's Bombay IPA? It was based on Jaipur from info direct from the brewer. Her comes highly recommended by all those who've brewed it. My 1st go is getting towards the end of it's ferment. Should be just about ready to polish off over xmas =P~

Cheers Tom

I have a jaipur junior recipe I'd share if anyone wanted it? its only 4% but that is how I like them. Some people think its an odd hop bill but the only Jim's member to taste it (Spikesdad) said it was spot on.

There is a thread on homebrewtalk that one of their brewer said they didnt use northern brewer and Amarillo hops. He specifically mentioned pale malt and vienna only, and ahtanum chinook and cent for hops. Interestingly no dry hop.

I note that the recipe has been edited so might explain some of the things that don't add up. Specifically the mention of 20 minute additions in subsequent comments, whereas the recipe mentions 30 minute steep. I certainly am also sceptical about producing the intensity of aroma that makes Jaipur so attractive can be achieved with this recipe. If anyone knows where you can get Ahtanum hops from right now I would certainly be interested as I would like to brew a Jaipur or Punk IPA clone.

The latest recipe has been edited to be the closest to the book. A brewer mentioned they have pretty soft water there, and gypsum is added to the brew. The only thing i find may not add up is colour of the beer as this seems rather light.

The make up of the Thornbridge water is given in the IPA book, Ca 199, Mg 20, Na 30, SO4 412, Cl 123, HCO3 17

As for hop aroma they have a Rolec Hopnic which could explain that one.

Would love to see one being used, could be tempted to try and get a homebrew version made?

I'd certainly be interested in a session strength version if you're kind enough to share it ?
