Bishop's Tipple (OG)

Post by tec-9-7 » Tue Mar 12, 2013 4:16 pm

I've currently got hefeweizen #2 in my fermenter, and am planning my next batch. I'm going to try a variation on Line's Gibb Mew Bishop's Tipple.

Here is what I'm planning:

15L batch

340 g Victory Malt
340 g 80° Crystal Malt
28 g Black Patent Malt

Above steeped for 30 minutes at ~68°

2722 g Maris Otter LME
454 g Lyle's Golden Syrup
57 g Molasses

Boiled for 30 minutes; then add:

43 g Bramling Cross - 7.4 AAU (60 minutes)

Fermented with WLP005 (British Ale) at 15°-18°

Predicted OG: 1.070
Predicted FG: 1.020

Color: 33° EBC (Light-Medium Brown)

Bitterness: 50 IBU

Thoughts?

Steeping at -68 degrees will require a dry ice/acetone bath and probably wont extract much
