My first foray into the world of reasonable recipe building (did a Baltic Porter a while back) and I'd like a little feedback. :)

Ruby Solo - Irish Red Ale

4.5kg Pale Malt
0.5kg Crystal
0.5kg Amber
0.5kg Torrefied Wheat

Mash for 60 mins before the boil.

Hops - Fuggles (100g)
Boil (60 minutes) - 60g
Aroma (5 minutes) - 40g
Southern Brewing

FV 1 (5 gallon): Nothing
FV 2 (5 gallon): Nothing

Commercial: More booze than some local pubs.

You might consider a little roast barley in there, I believe its fairly characteristic for the Irish style.

Personally i think 500g amber might be too much. I am guessing the og is lowish. Amber can be rather overpowering but thats just my opinion

OG will give a brew of around 5.4-5.5%

I've chosen the ingredients based on what is available at work, so I can then pitch the beer if it's good enough.

As for the Amber, I'll see what it's like in the test run this week. :)
