Malice Porter revisited

Post by bigdave » Wed May 07, 2014 6:09 pm

Thought I'd revisit my Malice Porter recipe. It was a great beer 18 months ago so I'm hoping that 18 month experience and a few slight tweaks will make for an even better beer..

Out of interest, Dave, why are you using lager malt in a porter?
Best wishes

It's not actually lager malt, it's Muntons 'Very Extra Pale' malt, and I'm using it because I've got 25kg to use.

I get my base malt from a local brewery at cost price so get what they've got available at the time.

I thought it might be due to availability rather than intent.
Best wishes

Looks like it'll be great, maybe even more delicious than the first version. Best of luck!
