I'm wondering if anyone's tried this beer, I absolutely loved it and would like to make
my own version at some point.
The description simply says:
"Kasteel Rouge is a unique blend of Kasteel Donker and a sweet cherry liqueur"
Maybe I should try buying the beer they blend with the cherry liqueur with (Kasteel Donker), and adding cherry liqueur too,
to start with, to work out the amounts.
Also as the liqueur would have sugar in, do you think they let it ferment that sugar? Or would they pasteurise the beer?

Re: kasteel rouge (brown ale with cherries)
Tried it in the summer and to be frank wasn't very good IMHO. The cherry was too in your face and a bit synthetic to my mind. It was quite sweet so I suspect it's been pasteurised but I don't know. I guess if it was filtered before the liqueur went in then that would work too.

I actually quite liked this even though I'm not normally that into sweet beers.
Have you ever tried Kasteel Donker? it's like drinking a sunday roast. We used to have challenges at our local Belgian pub to see who can put one away quickest. It's very slow going! Not entirely unpleasant but quite an experience. The Rouge is very easy to drink given the ABV.

Haha, interesting description of it being like a sunday roast.
I bought kasteel donker at the weekend, I found it fairly sweet, but nice.
