Yes mate.
Alternatively we could change the crystal for munich. Just for a little extra.
Barry44 70 ibu is ok but might be a little hefty for something of around 6.5%?
We really need a pole then we can start with hops.
My wish is that we try to keep away from the c hops. Please...

I think the forums stout recipe is set in stone. Cue Ditch. I would like a classic India Pale Ale for my vote.
Fermenting: Wilkos Cider
Drinking: Wilkos Hoppy Copper (very nice)

Jims IPA, designed with experience, created with passion. A 6.5% symphony of selected malts and spicy hops, married together to deliver a hand crafted ale expressing a collaboration of experience in brewing.
I'm thinking that it should be launched with an ad campaign in a film noir genre, tall ships sailing against the wind and crashing waves spraying I the faces of old salty sea dogs, then following the tumult maybe some beautiful Indian models sipping it from champagne flutes in little black numbers (preferably chicks)! With a tag line of "everything is knowledge"
Unless it's pants of course!

In all seriousness, could I suggest First Gold and Amarillo for hops, I love them together and use them in a couple of IPA's which are my faves, spicy orangeness so good

mine's a vote for the ultimate english bitter in any case. just feels right..

My preference would really be something English else i fear the new world hops and c hops would win.
I would like either a traditional ipa og pale. British hops british yeast.
Say max 4 hops?

I also think that it would be in the spirit of this particular forum to have something very British as its own brew.

Traditional IPA or a Classic British strong bitter would be ideal. Goldings for one of the hops, other suggestions? A good solid British yeast. Luvverly. Grain bill not too complex either, best not to overdo things

Conditioning - Meads - Raspberry Melomel yeast test, Vanilla Cinnamon Metheglyn, Orange Melomel.
Drinking - Youngs AAA Kit; Leatherwood Traditional Mead, Cyser, Ginger Metheglyn.
Planning - Some kits until I can get back to AG, then a hoppy porter, Jim's ESB, some American Red.

Goldings and fuggles are a great combo. Challenger and northdown.
Think we should have say 3-4 additions. Malt backbone with nice aftertaste.
Maybe an idea for someone to make a recipe then it can be tweeked?

I'd certainly agree with it being an English bitter with a classical hop combo - another vote for Fuggles/Goldings. Also,sticking with Whit B/ SO4 as it's such a solid little performer and EVERYONE can get hold of it with ease; ok, a tad bland on the ferment - but this is about body and those classical hops eh ?

What about using S-33? Every bit as solid in performance as S-04 but without the tartness and it certainly fits the British bill.
