Which hops???

Post by gibbiem » Sat Jan 10, 2015 9:59 pm

Just drinking a Brewdog Double American IPA (Hardcore IPA) and love the dank, resin, onion sort of flavour and wonder how they get that? Tasted it in a few west coast IPAs and would love to recreate. I thought it was simcoe but I can't recreate that flavour. Next brew I'm doing is going to be all MO so the hops really shine through. Would love some advice on getting this flavour though, cheers

Centennial, Columbus and Simcoe according to the Brewdog website. Apparently Comet are a good hop for onion flavours.

in my experience even if you only use columbus for bittering you know about it, but it contributes a good punch late too
dazzled, doused in gin..
