Thinking of brewing a Franken-beer, a lager/ale hybrid just to experiment really, was thinking along the lines of
70% golden promise
25% lager malt
5% torrified wheat
Southern cross bittering hops and Hallertau aroma hops.
Yeast would be Safalle US - 05
Any constructive feedback welcome. Thanks.

Re: Would this be ridiculous?
I did a similar recipe only 50% golden promise and 50 % lager malt with EGK and Cascade hops was delicious
Re: Would this be ridiculous?
Perfectly fine. If you want it lighter you can up the lager malt. Consider some lactic acid in the mash (about a gram) and a few grams of gypsum (~5) if your water is so very soft as here. Slightly longer boil, although it's not like Pilsner malt. Saaz is a cracker in these ones and EKG works very well too

Thanks guys, probably won't be doing this for a couple of months as I have another recipe to do first, should have this ready to drink by the summer though.
