American Amber Ale

Post by Greg » Fri Jul 26, 2019 10:53 pm

Thought I’d give this whole sharing thing a go.

Did this one back early March, hit its peak in early April when the first rays of Spring Sunshine graced us.

American Amber
75% Efficiency
26L Batch. Water profile is Sweet Pale Ale
5.65kg Maris Otter
0.5kg Crystal 240 EBC
Mash @ 66C for 90mins
60 min Boil
45g Fuggle Leaf @ 60mins for 23.8 IBU’s
78g Equanot Pellet Dry Hop for 5 days
Safale US-05
O.G 1.057
F.G 1.014
ABV 5.7%

Might try it next time by upping it to 4g/l on the dry hop, just to see if it can be improved. Equanot has a lovely herbal note to it, it almost seems like I’d used two hops. Not the lightest in tastes with that much crystal malt, but I liked it 😀
