QUOTE (Daft as a Brush @ Jan 27 2006, 12:18 PM)Good man! For that you get a virtual Jims HB forum badge
Excellent! I'll look forward to that - I hope it's better than a blue peter badge and gets me into breweries rather than museums
As I'm on my 'lunch break' I'll give you the description from the book as well - sounds really nice:
'A superb and quenching golden ale. Almost a hybrid with a lager bouquet and palate, and with the finish of a stong ale. Dry, quenching balance of malt and hops, long finish with bitter-sweet notes and light fruit hints.'

Re: Exmoor Gold
Resurrecting an old thread here but Exmoor Gold is one of my favorite drinks so I've got the grain and hops on order. It will be my first time with all grain and I've only got a small boil pot, but I'll have enough room to do half the amount I think. Got an 18litre pot but that's up to the brim. If I just half this recipe will it give the same beer? Also how much strike water will I need for 2.3kg of grain? Just giving this a go see what happens. Cheers.

Re: Exmoor Gold
Thanks for the reply Seymour. Brew day is right now. Already had a spillage but not much luckily. Haha. Half an hour into the mash and can only get up to a constant 65.1 degrees. Hoping to get 15 litres of beer out of this.

Re: Exmoor Gold
How'd it turn out?
Re: Exmoor Gold
Not too bad in the end. The most tricky part was getting the bag into the collander (it was a biab) and sparging. The bag was just too big and I ended up just grabbing anything to hand that got me through it haha. I should've thought about this but was just keen to get cracking. Only got one big pot and that's the boil pot. Its fermenting steadily now at 18 degress with some s-04 divided into 5l plastic water bottles in the airing cupboard.
