But the feck up of 500g of dark dme and 500g light dme seems to have gone well so well recommended i think ill try with a full kilo of dark dme then im considering 1 kg of dark dme then 500g of light dme a kilo of brown sugar and brewed to 12 litres...

just worked the abv started at 1.040 finished at 1.005 so around 4.8 abv

Got myself a kit of this with some light malt extract and brown sugar (best I could get). I'm going to have a pop tomorrow and stick it in my polypin once it's finished.

If all goes well it may go on the regular schedule when I'm too lazy to do my AG

Takes me around an hour and half with stertilistation and prepping ?

But on one other note this stuff should come with a health warning for being dangously drinkable, bottled on the monday, wife was drinking it before it had been in the bottle 5 hours. I held off to the tuesday night i enjoyed it but i kept being poked by homebrew twang and all week ive been pondering posting about how much cAmden tablet is too much i thought about putting a whole tab in with it, to calm it down etc suit my local water conditions, but today ive cracked a bottle and the twang has complety fecked off another plus one to ditch for giving me the confidence to put camden taablets in reading abot it killing yeast i wanted to avoid it like the plague. But i can vouch it has no side affects to yeast prodction (well coopers ale yeast).
Also ditch mentions treating the water before adding it in a separate container. i made it roughly to ditchs recipe up to 20 litres with untreated water and adding the sugar and stirring then adding the camden tab then stiiring and then the yeast left it for 12 days and bottled it (2 1/2 tsp for a 2 litre pet bottle). Not im drinking it like its going out of fashion ive never drank stout so quick let alone homebrew or ale

Bobders; Eight weeks? That's all just bravado, mate! Easily typed .....

Hmmm, I ran out of Batemans finest in bottles tonight, had a cheeky red wine or two and now I find myself sat here with a pint of Ditch's...Bravado and easily typed indeed!

It tastes fantastic, rich and full of flavour (Apologies here Ditch...I did keg, but also chose to prime) but I'm not so sure that priming hasn't taken the edge off it :?

HH; Your my sort of bloke. 'Anything to hand' Image

Good sh!t though, ain't it? I'm just starting to find mine's getting that tad cold again now. This Winter may well be the one where I go for it and try to devise a way of keeping my kegs at a better temperature.

This gear looses a Lot when it gets 'freezing cold' on the palette. Probably better served around the 65 or so F mark ....?

2nd pint on the go and it's doesn't seem so "carbonated" now

Mine hasn't left the house so its probably at around 19-20c How does that compare? Similar to 65f I would guess.

It's slipping down nicely now, I may have to go for a third :-D
