Gone with 40g of each but putting it in at the start.
How would you dry hop this?

Possibly undrinkable! I wouldn't go much more than 50g in total...Uncle Joshua wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 12:49 pmForgot about his post. I wonder if 40/50g of each would be ok?k1100t wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 12:44 pmWell, I'd do what Nitro Jim suggested and make a hop tea. Also look at dry hopping for some more aroma too.Uncle Joshua wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:47 amMy starting point is a Wilco IPA kit. The only other ingredients are as stated. I don't want a Brewdog clone, just something in a style that they may brew, IE a hippy beer.
Beer is my drug of choice.
I don't need anger management classes, I need people to stop pissing me off.
No beer, no fun - know beer, know FUN!
Carrots may be good for your eyes but alcohol is better as it gives you double vision!

Just seen this after I posted above. If you have put them in at the start as far as I understand you won't be dry hopping. That term (at least to me) is when you bung them in after a few days of fermenting. You get loads of hop waste sitting on the yeast cake which is why I make a hop tea.Uncle Joshua wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 1:19 pmGone with 40g of each but putting it in at the start.

I was going to dry hop later on. I added hops at the start. Have I knackered my brew?
Re: Wilco IPA Mod?
Not necessarily... When I make a kit for the first time I make it as per the instructions except I brew short, making it up to 19 or 20 litres. I can then judge how to modify. I don't particularly like overly hoppy beers. If you have put 80g of hops in already I certainly wouldn't add anymore.

I don't mind hoppy beers. I'm currently brewing a Brewdog Elvis Juice with a Mangrove Jack kit.

Ah, 'hippy' beers. You'd better add a bit of weed when you dry hop!Uncle Joshua wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 6:38 pmI don't mind hippy beers. I'm currently brewing a Brewdog Elvis Juice with a Mangrove Jack kit.

You said you like `Hoppy Beers`...................
After 7 days fermenting, Dry Hop with the rest of your Hops for 5 days, take the Hop bag out of FV,
give it a good squeeze to get all the hoppiness out of it! 2 days later, bottle the beer
They are both boring hops anyway, so you won`t get anywhere near Brewdog Hoppy stuff.
Don`t forget batch priming before bottling.

Is there anything I can do to save this brew?

I like beer --- Currently rebuilding the brewery, this time with stainless...
Re: Wilco IPA Mod?
Only you'll be able to tell if it's drinkable or not! Let it ferment, bottle it, condition it and then see what it's like. If it's too bitter, then leave it for longer, as the bitterness will fade.
