About a year ago, quite a few of us aquired 7kg CO2 bottles. Has anyone run out yet? How many brews per bottle can we expect?

doing a show this summer (selling beer) I got ~ 1000pints out of my pubgas cylinder @30psi. When it does run out there really isn't much warning unfortunately.

It depends if you have any little leaks or if you use CO2 for anything else other than dispensing beer (for example passing cleaning solution through kegs etc). I'd guess on 10 or so Corni's but I've never really counted. It could well be more. Currently I've got 1 part used and two full cylinders....I won't need to go back to the distributor in a while.

Not as long as I'd hoped then. I always purge my bins/kegs with CO2 before trasferring, so I must be due to run out soon

I managed to scrounge a cylinder from a pub. I think it's about 15kg. I thought it would last for years, but no, more like 3 months. I admit I have been testing several kegs and movig connections around a lot which means I've regularly wasted the gas I used to pressurise cylinders. It does seem to have run out very quickly though.

Zebra - have you been leaving the CO2 "on" when connected up to kegs or do you only give the system a "blip" when you want to add gas ?
Dan!

I noticed on the Northern Homebrew forum, some guy left his gas on all night and lost an entire bottle, due to a small leak

I usually just give a 'blip' when needed. I guess my consumption is just another symptom of the good old consumer society.... If it wasn't for the fact that its all in the cellar I suppose I could plant loads of plants around the CO2 rich atmosphere!

Very cunning DAAB. I've got one of those chaps, it'd be good to find something useful for it to do (someone bought it for me to blow an airbed up with and it's certainly useless for that!).
