have keg will travel.....

Post by crow_flies » Thu Dec 21, 2006 10:59 am

I was trawling through the brouland site and came across these: -

http://www.brouwland.com/shop/product.a ... t=412&dt=7

and

http://www.brouwland.com/shop/product.a ... 2E4+&dt=21

I was thinking this would be a great way to pour off 5l of beer to take to a party. I don't want to get into Cornelius Kegs, and bottling is a pain.

anyone taken this route? Are the kegs the same as the ones that you can buy in the supermarkets with lager in them?

That looks like a great bit of kit. Is the thing that goes on top a CO2 injector, tap or both?

Its both I think - injector and tap. The kegs appear to come with bungs, so guess you could pour off and store, cool and then take with you and inject with gas.

Only thing is they take 16g cartridges and I am not sure how common they are in the uk?

H&G used to do those mini-kegs, I wonder why they stopped.

Looks good for parties anyway, especially since you can just bung it in the fridge. It's not easy getting a cornie in the fridge at a party

theres always plenty of room in the fridge for a keg at a party. well, once you've removed all the cheap nasty lager and alcopops that is.... :D

I still need to get round to buying 5 litres of summer lightening and seeing if I can convert that into a re-usable keg.

Summer lightening. I love that stuff.

Hop Back had a deal with our local Weatherspoons and it was their permanant guest. Sadly they fell out and now its Abbot Ale....grim.

Abbot Ale is lovely (assuming it's kept well in the boozer). :D
