Here's a fun little question.

What would you say is the best, inexpensive, piece of brewing kit you have bought or built?

What saves you time and/or effort but didn't cost you much?

To give get the ball rolling, I will nominate the humble Syphon Clip.

Not anywhere near as inexpensive as a clip but may I nominate the in-line water filter as the one thing that improved my beers the most.

A tap for my fermenter. Makes transferring so much quicker and easier. No need to worry about starting your syphon. It also makes bottling much easier than it used to be.

I think the next thing to make bottling easier will be a bottle tree/rinser

Sanitizer - betadine etc. I believe is most essential for making quality beer.

The 'bumpicker'.. about a fiver.

Otherwise known as the 4" pressure barrel cap spanner. Takes all the strenuous Greco-Roman wrestling moves out of getting a cap done up tight, and then a tight cap undone ;)

Snap with Frothy

All of my gear is in expensive.

I guess my carboy caps and racking cane to make syphoning hassle free.

Copper pipe.

From the off cuts that get moved around the garage everytime I clear it out I've made a MT manifold, hop strainer and hop back filter :)

That's very good. Never would have thought of that.

Soda crystals without a shadow of a doubt. Removing gunk has never been soooo easy and cheap.
