Stupid conversion question

Post by Hoppkins » Fri Jan 26, 2007 2:02 pm

I was looking at Daabs minimash setup.

It requires a 5 liter ferm bin (well 2 of them)

How many gallons is this? Is it 1 gallon? All the bins seem to only be in gallons from hop and grape.

Thanks

If you had an odd bit of 22mm copper:- 4 elbows, 1 T-piece and not very much pipe at all, I suppose you could fashion a minimanifold if you felt so inclined.

This will be my introduction to full mash. I cant belive i didnt see this before. It's perfect for my needs as it lets me experiment with smaller quantities and if it goes T*TS up then at least only a small amount is buggered.

Is there an easy way to take a recipe from the recipes section and convert it down to the requirements of this method?

Thanks

If its a recipe for 25 litres and you're making 5 litres divide the ingredients by five

I can recommend DaaB's minimash kit/setup/process - very easy to do and not much cleaning up required. I've got a SNPA clone mini-mash planned for this weekend.

I'm using them as small-scale experiments for "new" recipes ahead of a full 5 gal brew.
Dan!
