can anyone direct me to a bottle filler with a valve on the bottom that will attach to the tap on a barrel and will fill both wine and 2 litre pet bottles? is there such a thing?
cheers

got one today from the local post office/home brew shop... £2.79 complete with tap. it comes off the tap so i extended it with a bit of pipe and put it on my barrel to bottle my 30 bottle wine kit.... great bit of kit

Do you have to prime the tap and fill the bottling stick with water before you connect them together? If you didn't then most of the air in the tap and stick would bubble up through the beer, you could also get an airlock in the stick.

The use of the cutting mat is inspired DaaB. =D>

The bottling cane I got with my kit has been indespensible, especialy when bottling from my 5l plastic demi-johns(empty water bottles 45euro cents). it can also give you that extra reach on tubing that isnt quite long enough. :D

A standard WD barrel tap is 16mm though which is an odd size. You can get taps that are exactly the same design but with a 1/2" / Hozelock connect on the end. usually on Ebay under water-butt taps

Think I will get a bottling stick. May save me that hassle of overfilling :) Currently I just let the beer flow into the bottle straight from the tap down the side of the bottle walls. A 2 handed job.....

EDIT: Just ordered one from Hop and Grape. Such friendly people there. Only thing is that no tubing comes with the tap. I am pretty sure that I have the right size at home, just not 100% sure. Guess I will find out when the stick arrives!!!
