Its never seen homebrew before, and at the moment its duff - I've got to make a replacement part for it before its ready for action again.

DaaB - I searched Ebay - I bid on pumps - the price went too high - I decided to wait until the "silly season" was over - someone offered me a new pump - I bought it! (wot a sucker  )

So you'll soon be joining the club, Andy! :=P

I can still taste the hops this morning! I think I overdid the dry hopping.

I guess a bit of research/experimenting is required...

Still, its interesting that you can replace the loss of co2 sharpness with a bit of dry hopping.

Why bother with the sparkler? run your beer straight and keep the carbonation and hop profile intact.

My bass engine with swan neck (if I could I would have a southern spout rather than a swan neck) gives a hearty head without knocking out all the carbonation.

Ahem.

I personally care more about the taste, but if you give beer without a head to anyone up here they think it's rubbish!

I have to say that I like the look of a beer with a good tight head, though - without a sparkler you get a head like that on dishwater!

Oh ok, Northerners eh?

hehe

I desend from a Brewery Drayman from the east of london and Publicans who ran the Kings Arms in Salcombe Devon (in the 1840's) so southern blood runs in my veins.
