barrel temp?

Post by james_m_r » Sun Feb 11, 2007 5:56 pm

Currently have 40 pints kegged which has been sitting on my kitchen worktop for a week, so now need to tranfer to somewhere cool. I had planned to put it in my shed (metal shed) but it gets freezing cold in there and I wondered if I would be better off putting it into an unheated room instead. What would people recomend? And what is the lowest temperature you should keep your beer in at this stage?

excellent. i have opted for the unheated room which also fluctuates between 15-18 deg c.
i am by no means a beer connoisseur but i believe bitter, which i am brewing, is best served between 10-13 deg c. when the contents of your barrel is ready to drink do you move again to somewhere around this temp or leave as is and drink slightly warmer?
