I have an Angram CQ beer engine. I have a check valve connected straight to the beer engine using a 1/2" JG fitting. I then have 3/8" line (about 1m) to my corny from the check valve. The regulator is set to 1 bar.
When I pump the engine the check valve is knocking and there appears to be some resistance. The beer is also quite frothy.
I have read lots but it seems everyone's setup is different and I cannot work out how to get my setup working properly.
I am very grateful for any assistance. Thank you

1 bar is very high perhaps thats a typo and you mean 1psi?? not a hand pump user i dont know, but think you want the gas set to the minimum u can just to replace the volume drawn and not keep under pressure.
1 bar is 14-15psi thats enough to pressure condition a lager if the keg is chilled..

Re: Beer Engine help please
yes as fil says the knocking is due to excess pressure. I have played about with my setup, which is similar to yours except about 1.5 metres beer line before the check valve and 6" of 1/2" hose after the valve and now run about 5 psi (my cornies wont seal below this)the knocking has gone but I still get some amount of frothing ie not pulling a full measure from the pump(in my case 1/4 pint beer engine).
I am currently waiting for my plastic casks and cask aspirator to arrive(coming to greece in december, early xmas present), so I can go all out for cask ale.

Thank you very much indeed for the replies. I suspect the problem I will have is sealing the Corny with a low psi. I have seen some suggestion of reducing the line diameter? Thank you
