Maybe an odd question, but I use bottles or beerspheres with drum taps so I've never seen beerline in the wild. Today I happened across some rolls of black plastic tubing at my favourite parts supply centre (the tip). These were brand new, clean, opaque black plastic tube rolled up loosely, tied with a bit of string and had paddington bear style brown paper luggage tags on which was written 3/16" by 30m.
You beer-engine folk seem to mutter quite a bit about 3/16" lines so I wondered if I might have accidentally found some, didn't pick any up but if you reckon this might be the stuff I could always pop back and see if its still there
The other possibility was perhaps its some sort of microbore irrigation tube for gardeners
Any thoughts?
so what does beerline look like?

It may be beer line or it may be hydraulic piping (the latter isn't food grade), or maybe something else all together (such as hydroponic plant watering gear). For the price of beer line, it's probably not worth risking.

Beer line is generally either 3/8" or 5/16". You would need much higher pressures to get a decent flow rate through 3/16" tubing.
