if you have a 2nd fv i would clean and sanitise it and transfer the beer into it asap and sort out the tap,
on fv's i use the waddington and duval water but taps foodsafe, and nice simple lever, the hoselock fitting is a nice quick connect feature for a fast drain with 1/2" pvc or silicone tube too,

next time check the fv tap for leaks when cleaning tissue/bog roll can be used to dry and detect slow small leaks if wrapped round the tap assembly when dry any moisture shows up visibly..
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(

I had a drum tap once. I could only get it to not leak with what I though was an excessive amount of force. I much prefer lever taps for FVs as you can take them apart. I use a W&D water butt tap on my boiler though.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

Looks like vasaline has helped. Put loads on last night anf its dry as a bone 2day.

been speaking to guy at hb shop and he says the top part of the tap comes off 4 cleaning

so it might not be pushed on tight enough

cheers

I used to use the W&D drum taps, for quite a few year infact. However I found them to be unreliable so changed to the following:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plastic-Tap-f ... 0742625594

Same thread diameter as the W&D drum taps so an easy switchover.

Bloody hell! they're only about £3.99 in most HBSs. But I agree they are excellent. I have one on my King Keg.
Best wishes

Easy to control and don't leak. Usually about 3 or 4 quid. I've got them on my King Kegs.

Andy's link was five taps for £12. Used these too and they work well.
