Grasshopper - visit Wilkos for kettle enlightenment. :D

Well, Wilko's didn't enlighten me too much today. I drove almost 30 miles to Wilko's, as there's none near to me according to their website. But all they had was cordless kettles from £11.95

Tried another Woolies, who appear to sell corded 2.2kw kettles for £7.50 but they were out of stock.

I've also seen a few 3kw quick boil kettles for about £10. I'm wondering if these would be good. They are cordless, but looking at the connection beneath the kettle to the base, they look as though they'll take a standard 3 pin type plug that you'd plug into the back of most things like radio's, printers, pc's etc. I can get these leads from work ok.

Oops!

Checked my local Wilkos today and they had one corded kettle for £5.49, exactly the same one I used. I bought two at the time so have a spare in a cupboard.

£10 and then some messing about.

In the words of Andy when replying to one of my posts....stop faffing about :P

DaaB's recommendation , Exserve Ltd £12 element and lead.

Order 3 elements or more and the price comes down even more.

You'll kick yourself if you don't
