New Brewery

Post by JonoT » Sun Sep 20, 2015 8:00 pm

After a long silence no brewing, which has been taken up with moving house and 2 years renovating it. Now the house is finishedI have been rewarded with my space in the store room off the garage which is now all up and running. So no longer brewing in the shed and bottling in the kitchen!

It is now great to be back brewing again after such a long break

Heres a couple of pics of work in progress and it all back up and running. Its the same kit just in a new and much larger space!

The floor drain is amazing :) before the last photo was taken I had overfilled a bucket of hot water from the chiller! Very easy to clean up :) unlike the shed was when I overfilled the HLT! #-o

Well that's very posh, that is. I wish I'd thought of a floor drain when I did the floor for the beer shack. That would have been very useful.

That looks terrific. I love the dedicated vessel-washing sink.

That's not a sink. That's a worktop with a big bucket set into it :D

I think a large sink is really useful though. I re-used an ancient belfast sink specifically because they seem to be larger and deeper than modern ones. I picked up a monobloc tap with a pull-out head that switches between a single jet and a shower-type spray from ebay for about £15. That's been absolutely brilliant. Being able to sit an FV in the sink, pull out the tap and spray water around it as I clean makes life so easy, not to mention being able to reach over the edge of the sink to top up a container full of bottles I'm cleaning when I don't want to risk lifting it. I like your minimalist tap design though :)

IT IS A SINK !!

fitted with a drain, ubend, and overflow.. makes it a sink in my books ;) i almost used an old belfast sink too, but its full of grape hyacinths and sat next to the front door step and anchored down with a big spike thru the plug hole so might be a bit of a hassle to reclaim ;)
