Project box
Hi All!
I'll be building a temp controller for the HERMS I've built, just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction on the best place to get a project box and what size.
I'm waiting on a Mypin PID, I've got the SSR and heat sink and I want to incorporate a single socket into the box as well to plug the heating element in to.
TIA

Re: Project box
Maplins or toolstation stock them. It's worth getting one slightly larger to allow some airflow over the SSR heatsink.Troutman47 wrote:Hi All!

Re: Project box
If you can wait a few weeks, there's all different sizes available on eBay from China.

I use one of these medicine cabinets from ikea http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/search/?k=TRY ... %20cabinet
Inside I have 2 40A ssr and a raspberry pi. On the outside I have 2 plug sockets for boiler and recirculating pump

Re: Project box
That IKEA cabinet is a great idea, I'm currently deciding on a suitable enclosure myself. Can't decide on something alternative, a wall mount box like the electric brewery or a decent sized worktop electronics enclosure, anyone have any good links?

Re: Project box
How many home brewers get dragged round IKEA who, instead of being interested in soft furnishings, are looking out for all the stainless steel and other stuff for their brewery!

Any chance of a picture of the box. I've the same idea at the moment of having two elements running, with the aid of a pid, ssr's and a recirculating pump. Might give me food for thought and a chance to upgrade from the wooden wine box

Many thanks
