30 Litre Pressure Kegs

Post by deadlydes » Thu Jul 13, 2006 10:46 am

Hello
i know most of you that keg use cornies but this is an anternative
http://www.cypherco.com/brewing/30lbevkeg.html

advantages over the cornie is that they hold more (but you dont have to fill them if you dont want), more robust, look cool and are cheaper.

they are on around £20 new (i am pretty sure £16.50 + VAT). other things you will need to run them is a coupler (normally sankey around £10-15 look on ebay or google), gas supply and a font. a cooler is optional.

you can use them to dispense lagers (as they will hold up to 50psi) or ales (i.e. not applying as much pressure). you can rack into them clear and force condiction meaning your beer is mobile or you can syphon in not clear and leave to settle and naturally condiction

i know several brewers that use them.

i currently have just the one but am looking to buy a few more but the problem being that the company have sold out of them and before doing another run they need to get a few more people who will definatly buy them.

i want 5 and another brewer i know wants 5 so thats 10.

just wondering if anyone on here is interested?

any more information you need just ask
Cheers
Des

I've bee considering cutting down a couple of corni's however and convering then into smaller kegs. I just need to find a good TIG welder who wont charge the earth :D
How about selling a couple of Lrg cornies and buying a couple of new smaller ones from H&G?

They look like they could be a bit of a bugger to clean..............................:wall

Still, cheap as chips and a good size. Can't be bad. Just need to nudge the doris about an early Christmas present. :P

Frothy:
cleaning is fine.
i just put some cleaner inside shake for a bit and tip out.
other people who i know who are more into these and other kegs have built a cask washer.
if you have a pressure washer you can put the end inside and spray works everytime
let me know if your interested and how many u want
