Spinny Sparger owners - how many inches?
SPARGE ARM length!!!
I haven't got a Spinny Sparger yet
I'd like one but, to be honest, I'm a bit reluctant to part with 16 quid for what looks like a few bits of plastic tube and a bit of brass tube.
I've thought about making a sparging ring instead but haven't done anything about it yet...will have to either buy a spinny one or make a ring one before long though.

8.5" for me.
Went into HBS to buy a 7" sparger, as I knew the 10" wouldn't fit into the CoolBox/Tun. But the guy in the HBS only stocked the 10" one. So as I wanted the 7" one, he let me have the 10" sparger for the 7" price. Only a couple quid different.
When I got home to trim it down, I made it into an 8.5" arm, as this just clears the sides of the Coolbox without fouling.
It's an excellent piece of kit, possibly the best bit if kit I've bought so far.

I'm batch sparging so currently have no use for a sparge arm. One problem though is that since I only have one boiler this would mean that I would need to store the wort somewhere else whilst sparging and the transfer to the boiler once complete.
This is something I MIGHT consider (I already have the kit so shouldn't be too much of an issue!)
Since I have a Bucket in Bucket MashTun, I thought it would be more economical to buy a good length of tubing and glue (food grade) this to this lid (coiled). With one end seald, the other connected to my boiler tap and lots of small holes pierced in the tube, this should make a great sparging system.
I have already drained my Sweet Wort from the boiler using the 1/2" tubing and while it softened it didn't seem to be a problem.
