Buga! 0.26p more than last year!

That'll teach me to check my references!
Don't forget the washers - flat + silicone work well.

Buy fairly thin washers as the threads aren't that long, I used some liquid ptfe sealant too.

Holes cut and sockets in position:

I decided, seeing as I have plenty of case depth, I'd use the full pattress boxes to secure the socket fronts:

I did a very similar one, but with a smaller box, and it fits in nice and tight.
main thing is that it looks ok from the outside, and of course, it works.

I love that little box.
keeps my kegerator in check for nice cool ale over summer :8

what did you guys use to cut your maplins 'project boxes'

Im thinking my rotary tool (dremel wannabe) would be best but maybe a junior hacksaw would be neater?

I stich drilled mine with a 3mm bit after drawing the template of the socket on the back.
I then cut out with a stanley.

a dremmel style thing would be cool though.

Chain drilled then waggled the drill and an angle to break through to the next chain drilled hole.
Then mixture of Fake-Dremmel & a Flat File :)

I went along with a jigsaw, problem is the plastic melts & reseals the cut, took me bloody ages, dremel has the same melt/seal problem too.

If its of use, I've done such things with a soldering iron in the past - making use of the melting thing rather than fighting it. It stinks and you need to clean the iron afterwards (before it cools), but done outside (and upwind on a windy day) it seemed okay and is very easy to slowly move the iron in all manner of complicated shapes without stressing the plastic.
