The copper is "soft" copper, with a thin bore and being of smaller size it is supple to being gentle bent around.

If you were to bend it around a cornie gently you would have no troble at all fella.

To use it around a cornie to cool it though is a diff matter, ive thought of this too. you would have to keep the winding very tight to acheive this i would have thought and then insulate over it to keep the coolness inside.

Rummaging around in my garage I have found just the thing: a Hozelock 5l garden pressure sprayer. Looks just the right size to wind copper tube round. Off to B&Q tomorrow to get the bits :)

Hmm wonder if that garden sprayer can be adapted to dispense beer...

Not rocket science wrapping something around another object

Make one of your arms first then make the first wrap around whatever your using (i used the demi john in the pic) then got my missus to hold the arm i made tight so i could continue to make the wraps around the DJ. With the copper already in a reel it tends to want to pull away but just keep pulling it in close and tight. once you got a couple of times around its easy.

If I'm not mistaken, that was a reference to using the weedkiller sprayer for beer
Anyway IC constructed without a hitch, using Daab's PVC sleeving connection method. Thanks vm Talisman and Daab 8)

I think I'll go get one of the 10mm to 15mm adaptors myself. For some reason, my IC (from H&G) has a 10-15mm adaptor on one side, but is bare 10mm pipe on the other.

I slid a piece of garden hose over the 15mm side which was a good snug fit, but had to use a piece of siphon tube on the 10mm side - and it's not the best fit, what's more the siphon tube goes very soft when there's boiling water coming out of the cooler. The problem with this, is that I can't turn the tap on very hard in case it blows off or leaks water into the wort.
I have exactly the same as you Adm
Get your self some kind of adapter on there or make sure you have some kind of hose retainer on the smaller side.

Mine came adrift once at the start of cooling a jet of 90oc water is no fun
You dont have to fire scalding liquid at me twice to prove a point
Fermenter(s): Lambic, Wheat beer, Amrillo/Cascade Beer
Cornys: Hobgoblin clone, Four Shades Stout, Wheat Beer, Amarillo/Cascade Ale, Apple Wine, Cider, Damson Wine, Ginger Beer

Hehe.....all done - sorted out in time for my brew last week:

Although I still managed to scald myself on today's brew.....Fired up the IC, turned the cold tap on a bit too quick and a big jet of steam blew the cold outlet out of the sink and zapped me on the arm!

Oh - and once I cranked the pressure up it started leaking at the hose join, but a quick screwdriver on the jubilee clip sorted that out
