When I hook mine up I use the same diameter beer line from my standard tap and step it up to fit the engine right at the inlet. there is a homebrew club here called Brewers United for Real Potables (BURP) that has a real ale competition with 40+ kegs of homebrew. What some of the people do is take a new corny lid, drill a hole in it and run a 1/2 inch line to the bottom (using fittings of course). That way there is no restriction caused by the line. That's next on my list. Like I said on my other post, I've got pictures, just no way of getting them up here.eskimobob wrote: How would I go about using one of these with my cornies then?

I've ordered stuff online from RS in the past so have a web account with them.... I *think* they may have tightened up who can order now but that would seem silly - if people want to buy then let them!Garth wrote:Andy or Vossy
I've had a look at getting one of these for my small fridge similar to yours, but the RS site requires you to enter a company name etc.
how do you get round this?
Cheers
Garth
Dan!
As long as they are RS Components (which they probably are) then the answer is yes. If they don't have it (unlikely) then they can get it in for you. RS have trade counters where you can go and purchase stuff over the counter much like Maplin. You can find a list of their trade counters on the website.Garth wrote:There is a an RS in Sunderland which I have bought stuff from before, would they stock it?
They used to have a hobby version called Electromail IIRC and anyone could order from them but the prices were higher.
If you have any problems then give me a shout and I'll order it through my trade account and post it on for you (as long as you cover the postage

cheers EB, I have just managed to order it, all I did was put my own name for the company name and stated that I was an individual person. But if it gets declined I'll take you up on the offer. Cheers
Oh and BTW I never thanked you, I used your linked stout recipe at the weekend for my first AG, it's currently fermenting, still quite violently upstairs, made a few boo boos but shouldn't turn out that bad, it smells quite good. fingers crossed...how long did you ferment yours for? I'm bottling it.

Great, I hope you like it. I left mine in primary for a week then another week in secondary. The secondary was probably not necessary though - could have gone straight to cornie as being a stout you can't see if it is cloudyGarth wrote:Oh and BTW I never thanked you, I used your linked stout recipe at the weekend for my first AG, it's currently fermenting, still quite violently upstairs, made a few boo boos but shouldn't turn out that bad, it smells quite good. fingers crossed...how long did you ferment yours for? EB, I might leave in the original bucket for a couple of weeks then bottle it, it has had an airlock from the start, apart from when scraping the brown stuff off when it had first set away, it's still belching a massive one out every couple of minutes at the mo.
Vossy, Cheers, I think I vaguely remember reading your post when you did that so I thought that it may work. It seemed to go thru ok, but you never know.
