I need to get myself a hole saw....

What size would I need for the tap and for the element (assuming I was to stick with the same element and tap from the bruheat boiler).

Thanks :)

I know that they will need to be corded. What would need to be done though to stop it cutting out when boil is reached?

You'll find that a lot of the cordless kettles have exactly the same (usable) elements as the corded ones. Just need to have a peek inside in the shop 8)

You might find THESE useful for cutting holes to exact size in plastic.

Was hoping to spend as little as possible on a set being that I won't really be using them for much....

I can get some cheap 'blades' for around £3 from Ebay but needed to be sure that the right size was included.

Those step drills are nice but not big enough for a 40mm element fitting unfortunately.... It's a doddle with a holesaw anyway.

Doesn't look like it goes down to 25mm - that's the hole size for the taps on all my stuff. Are the boiler taps larger?

Answer: You need help putting you socks and pants on :!:

Question 2: How do you know your twice as old as them?

Answer: When you look in you wallet and £60 has gone you remember the times when after a good night out with your mates you still had change from a tenner

Some people were asking what kettle to get , I picked this up today for £4.97

It's cordless and there were other ones to choose from, look at the bottom as Andy mentioned.

This sits in the base, when removed a standard printer, scanner or household electrical cable fits.

The element looks like this:

There is a thermal cut out that can trip in a prolonged boil, in this on it is a small bi-metal disc, it's advisable to remove this, again Andy posted some thing about it mentioning white gunk.

I hope that helps

Ensure the socket on the cable is C15/C16 "Hot" rated (120C). They look like this:

Hot rated socket.

Don't use a standard C13/C14 type as these are only rated at 65C. They look like this:

Standard socket.
